$5,000 scholarship for working professionals

The Utah campus of University of Phoenix and The Enterprise, Utah’s business news weekly, have teamed up to offer a $5,000 scholarship to a working professional who demonstrates entrepreneurial vision, unique leadership and concern for community.

This year the recipient has two choices, either a Master in Business, or a Master in Education. In the past, only an MBA was offered. This year, a Master in Education was added as a second option because Utah has a great need more teachers to help prepare our future work force.

 Applicants will be judged on:
• Personal or professional obstacles they have overcome in their lives.
• How they have been an asset to their current and past employers.
• What they have done to assist and improve their community.
• What they hope to achieve with their degree once they graduate.

All interested applicants should:
• Be employed full-time.
• Hold a bachelor’s degree.
• Submit an entry form by September 30, 2008.
• Be ready to enroll in the University of Phoenix MBA program by February 2009.

An independent committee of community and business leaders will select the recipient, who will be notified in October 2008.

Scholarship applications can be obtained by contacting Holly Heffron at University of Phoenix, 905-4310, holly.heffron@phoenix.edu.
